Music Event
Steps for Reserving Your Music Event:
Check the Church Calendar to make sure the desired time and date are available.
A Facility Request form (Digital* & Printable) needs to be completed and submitted to the church office through:

*To use the fillable PDF you need to download the file to your Mac or PC and then fill out the form in an internet browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari).
When we have received the Facility Request form, we will review the details and place a tentative hold on the church calendar (upon completion of the Facility Request form and submission of the down payment, your event will be officially booked in the church calendar).
Information Regarding Charges & Fees
The facilities of Athens First United Methodist Church may be available for rental to local organized clubs, associations, groups, and units. The charges and fees are to recover direct and indirect costs. Facility use is based on four hour blocks of time. Payments must be received by the church no later than one week prior to the event/meeting.
Reprocessing Fee
We're as transparent as possible with our charges and fees, as such, please review the pricing itemization carefully before sending in your facility use request. Changes requested after the finalized invoice has been sent out will reflect a $25 reprocessing fee.
Special Notice(s):
Supervisor’s Fee is based upon a minimum, guaranteed four hours, which includes the time you need to set-up and tear down for your event/meeting. If this time exceeds four hours, you will be charged an additional $15.00 per hour for that time. If your event meets any of the following criteria, you might need an Event Supervisor:
The event occurs after church office hours.
The event will have 50 or more participants.
The event occupies more than 1 room.
Athens First United Methodist Church is open to partnering with the Ohio University Music Department to offer a 50% fee reduction if the following criteria are met:
The event/concert must be a community event.
The event/concert is free and open to public attendance from church members and members of the community.
The church is allowed to advertise the event/concert to church members and to the local community if so desired by representatives of Athens First United Methodist Church.
The Leadership Board reserves the right to adjust any fee without prior notice.
For fundraisers or community awareness events congruent with the beliefs and missions of the First United Methodist Church, please reach out to the church office to discuss potential fee reductions or waivers.
Any signage must be approved by the Senior Pastor before it is posted on the church premises.
Payment & Scheduling Notice(s):
A 10% down payment is required to officially reserve the event on the church calendar.
The total is required to be paid no later than one week prior to the scheduled event (paid to Athens First UMC).
Refund Policy
The 10% down payment is nonrefundable.
The church office needs to be notified of any event cancelation.
If the event is cancelled less than 5 business days prior to the event the total is nonrefundable.
If the event is cancelled with greater than 5 business days the total is refundable with the exception of the 10% down payment.
