FREE Ways to Contribute
Menards
Instead of throwing away your Menards' Rebate receipts, donate them to the church to help us keep the building looking beautiful. There's a drop-off box on the Welcome Station in the back of the Sanctuary.
Kroger
Good news! Kroger Community Rewards no longer requires that you renew your information each April in order to have a small percentage of your grocery purchase donated to the church.
So, if you shop at Krogers and are not currently registered in the Community Rewards program (which you may not be if you were dropped-off the list before they changed this policy,) please sign up on the Internet.
When you go through the sign-up process, the Churches organization number assigned by Kroger is: SJ550.
When you logon to your Kroger Account if you navigate to the “My Account” menu you can see at the bottom whether you are active in the Community Awards Program and whether our organization number is the one you have selected.
Remember, the cool thing it, this doesn’t cost you a penny!
IRA - Traditional
If you are over 70.5 years old and have a Traditional IRA you are eligible to make a “Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD)” to the church.
When you arrange the contribution from your IRA to the church using a QCD the contribution is tax free – even if you take the standard deduction instead of itemizing. And, the amount still is considered to be part of your “Required Minimum Distribution.”
So, if you qualify for this it can save you money. There are specific rules for using a QCD so either talk to your accountant or look them up on the Internet.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding donations, please contact Dan Smith, Treasurer, at 260-409-7078.
