At First United Methodist Church, our mission for youth ministry is to nurture the youth of First United Methodist Church and the Athens area by presenting Jesus Christ through Bible study, programming and fellowship.

 

Meet Our New Youth Co-Directors   Hi, Friends!  We are Jason and Kirstin Shrom-Rhoads.  We have been involved in the many ministries at First UMC Athens for about 3 years, and members for about one year.  Now you will see us in another role at church!  We are happy to be starting this fall as the co-directors of Youth Ministry!  We look forward to greeting and meeting our youth and parents very soon. Expect to see us popping up in all kinds of different places around the Athens area…band performances, sporting events, maybe even at your dining room table.

Here is just a bit about us…

Jason works regular daytime hours at Rocky Boot in Client Services.  He enjoys mountain-biking, walking the dog, photography, and coin-collecting.

Kirstin works all kinds of hours as the Director at Camp Otterbein in Logan, Ohio.  She enjoys running, biking, reading, writing, and campfire cooking.  Facebook has become “her friend.”    

We are both excited to be joining our church in walking with our youth in their faith journeys. We hope to keep the youth group hoppin’ with creative, playful, and relational adventures along the way!
