Facilities - Sanctuary or Chapel?

Sanctuary

Consideration should be given to the area best suited for your wedding. The Sanctuary seats approximately 600 on the main floor and an additional 200 in the balcony. Many lovely weddings, both large and small, have been held in the Sanctuary. The Chapel seats 125 and is also lovely for weddings.

Note: The Sanctuary is NOT air-conditioned.

Room Fees:

When either the bride or groom or their immediate family are members of First United Methodist Church, no charge is made for use of the Sanctuary or Chapel. However, a fee is required for weddings in the church by non-church members:

$400 for wedding in Sanctuary and reception in Fellowship Hall

$200 for wedding only ($100 in Chapel)

     $200 for reception only

$175 for wedding in Chapel and reception in the 1st Floor Lounge

(Deduct the $50 deposit you made to reserve the facility)

Note: These are minimum fee suggestions. Additional amounts are acceptable depending on the services rendered. All fees are payable at your last counseling session or the wedding rehearsal and are to be given directly to the pastor.

Pastor

The couple should arrange an appointment to see the pastor as they choose a wedding date. It is our policy that the pastor from First United Methodist Church conduct the wedding ceremony. Other pastors may be invited to assist. The pastor requires counseling with couples regarding the adventure of marriage. This will include planning the wedding service.

Reserving the Church for your Wedding

In order to reserve the church for your wedding, you must first contact the pastor to discuss the date and availability. To complete the reservation, a reservation form needs to be completed and submitted along with a non-refundable deposit of $50, which is later applied toward your wedding fees. Once the date has been reserved with our pastor, paperwork submitted, and the non-refundable deposit of $50 rendered, the church facilities will be reserved. Visit our Contact Us section for the contact information.

Parking

The city parking garage is immediately across the street from the church on College Street and provides ample parking space (at a cost) for the wedding party and guests. The church parking lot, in the rear of the building, is extremely limited and may be used for the bride and groom's car only.

Receptions

There are two rooms available for your use for receptions. The Lounge is on the first floor and can accommodate approximately 50 - 75 guests. The Fellowship Hall is very nice for larger receptions (100 to 300 wedding guests).
