On behalf of the members of the House of Representatives of the 125th General Assembly of Ohio, we are pleased to commend First United Methodist Church of Athens on the memorable occasion of the Fifth Anniversary of its Monday Lunch Program.
Recognition of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a fitting tribute to First United Methodist Church of Athens, for over the past five years, its Monday Lunch program has achieved a praiseworthy record of service to the community. The success of the program is a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on the church itself, but also on its hard-working staff and volunteers and on the entire Athens area.
Over the years, First United Methodist church of Athens has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding community, and the generous contributions of its Monday Lunch program have earned it the gratitude and respect of the many citizens it has so capably served. We are certain that as the church continues its dedication to service, it will continue in the tradition of excellence which has long been its hallmark.
