Join us for Sunday School - Sundays 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.Classes are offered mid-September through mid-June for children age 3 through 4th grade and a Nursery is offered for infants and toddlers. We are currently using a rotational curriculum in which children through 4th grade experience the same Bible story or lesson at four different learning stations on four consecutive Sundays. The stations include art, storytelling, science and games. The children are led by various station leaders and nurtured by shepherds who provide consistency, familiarity and comfort. Each week begins with a gather in the Sanctuary at 9:30 a.m.
Tween's Class - Children in the 5th and 6th grades have a class all their own, for this special time in their lives. It meets in the Recreation Room on the 3rd Floor and is currently using the Live It curriculum, which focuses on applying Christian principles to the everyday circumstances of life.
God's Great Adventure Mission Focus Each year the Sunday School children learn about and support four specific mission outreach programs while learning more about the needs of people in different areas of God's world. This year we will be focusing two of our programs on learning about two recipients of the United Methodist Children's Fund for Christian Mission, starting this fall with a focus on a Methodist school for elementary aged children in Kenya. The other two programs will support and partner with our local and national missions within our church. Past missions that children have learned about and supported are Habitat for Humanity, Good Works, Inc., the local Food Pantry, FUMC youth and Wesley Student center mission trips to New Orleans, our adult mission trip to Central America, the international PET bike ministry and more. Our children are learning that it is a blessing to be a blessing to others.
