Learning or Re-Learning to Knit Our prayer shawl ministry has inspired many to dust off their knitting needles and crochet hooks, and inspired others to think about maybe learning how to knit or crochet. Suzanna Theodoras invites you to join her on Tuesday March 2 and 9 in the 1st Floor Lounge from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for an opportunity to learn (or re-learn) how to knit. Bring any knitting tools and supplies you have, and please give her a call if you plan to attend or if you have any questions (592-4649).
The Youth Invite You to a Pancake Lunch after Church on March 14 Come one, come all to this final fundraiser for the Spring Break Mission Trips. There will be plenty of flapjacks to go around. Join us in Fellowship Hall immediately following the 10:30 service. Your donations will gratefully be accepted.
Busy Scrapbookers Gather on the 4th Sunday for Fun and Fellowship The Scrapbooking group, which incorporates Bible Study with this popular hobby, is led by Lisa Dael and is now meeting on the 4th Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the Student Lounge. Lisa has done a wonderful job of assessing needs and adapting the class to meet the busy lives of scrapbooking enthusiasts.
Each session stands alone and requires no advance study prep – just gather the photos you would like to use that relate to these themes: My Purpose, Family, Church, Sisterhood, My Relationship with God and Freedom in Christ (just some of the topics to be discussed over the next few months). Bring a friend or family member and have them scrapbook along with us. The more the merrier!
For more information, please contact Lisa Dael (dael@ohio.edu) or see her at church.
Church Directories Now Available The 2010 edition of our Church Directory is now available. You may pick up a copy from either of the two literature racks: in the Narthex and outside the Chapel.

Worshiping in Healthier Ways During Cold and Flu Season
When we greet each other: HAND OVER THE HEART We recognize our need to help keep each other healthy during the season of colds and flu, and so we practice the option of placing one’s hand over one’s heart as we greet one another during worship services. This way we can still greet each other warmly and personally, yet responsibly. Even our local medical doctor was thrilled to hear this new option. He also spoke of how necessary it is for the people to worship together as it actually strengthens the body as well as the soul.
As We Share in the Gift of Communion: GIVING AND RECEIVING The most frequent method of serving communion is Intinction - tearing the piece of bread and dipping it in the cup. We do this to remember how Jesus was broken open and poured out. The desire is that we all share in this, yet that is all that we would like to share in this process. So, Intinction is now shared with an individual piece of bread placed into the receivers’ hands that they have shaped like a bowl to receive the bread. Then a small cup of the unfermented juice of the grape is offered to each, and a basket is present to collect the empty cup.
Men’s Breakfast Group Meets on Thursdays The Men’s Breakfast Group meets every week at Bob Evans for breakfast, study and prayer from 7 to 8 on Thursday morning. Newcomers are always welcome!
